At Niro Granite, we emphasize on quality tiles and to upkeep our standards of Swiss-Quality-Tile, we have adopted standards that are more stringent than the global MS ISO 13006.


Why Do We Achieve The Highest Quality Standards?

 

Final Results Matter

To achieve a beautifully laid floor, proper installation method is a must. We have made it easier for installers to achieve proper installations within a shorter time frame with our tiles when we meet the ISO 13006 standards and surpass them:

  • Our tiles have really straight sides and have achieved better than the standard requirement of ±0.8mm measurement variations.
  • Tile rectangularity or achieving a 90° edge on every side of the tile. This is also known as rectified tiles. Most of our tiles are rectified tiles.

Besides reducing tile wastages, these standards will help achieve floor installation with neat and straight grout lines.

 

Aesthetically Beautiful & Safety Assurance

Floors are flat in theory but in actual, when installed, there may be unnoticeable misalignments. A misaligned floor is more likely to cause chips, cracks, breaks, wobbly furniture, and unexpected hazards.

 

To achieve floor flatness, besides a good installation method, the tile must achieve a flatness of ±1.8mm variance of below. For Niro granite tiles, we ensure that the standards are met and achieve better for some. This means better chances of getting an aesthetically beautiful floor with safety assured.

 

Durable Tiles That Shines For Years

In tiles, durability is measured by its water absorption rate. The less moisture a tile can absorb, the more dense the tile is. A denser tile is less porous thus, stronger and more durable.

A low water absorption rate also enables a tile to resist stains and keeps the tile looking as good as new for years.

For Niro Granite tiles, we ensure that our tile comply to the ≤ 0.5% water absorption rate.


 

Safety Is Our Priority

 

 

Before our tiles go out to market, they are tested for strength as well as slip or abrasion resistance to determine its suitability for the area of application.
 
Strength tests are mainly rated industry-wide with PEI ratings. The higher the PEI rating, the stronger the tile. For example, a tile rating of PEI 5 (the highest) will be able to withstand heavy foot traffic and weight and would be suitable for shopping malls or car park area.
 
Tiles are also given an anti-slip rating in the form of an “R” value. The higher the value is, the higher friction or slip-resistance value it has. R13 (the highest value) is suitable for wet areas like the pool area while R9 and R10 for kitchen and bathroom.
